Slate Roof Projects

The natural slate roof system on the waterfront at Point Grey Rd in Vancouver was installed with copper nails and copper flashings. The slate was imported from the Trinity slate company in Newfoundland, which is similar to the slates found in Europe and can be found on Harvard University and many other prestigious buildings in North America. The natural stone slates come pre-punched but where require a light strike with a slate hammer punches the nail hole for custom fittings. A slate roof is the Rolls Royce of sloped roofing and lasts hundreds of years.
